VelocityManager II now comprises over 47 new proprietary technologies researched and developed to minimise uncertainty in numerical processes. These technologies are key to accurate depth conversion. By using technologies in core numerical process and new functionality, numerous hidden numerical pitfalls in depth conversion, commonly found in the industry, are avoided.
Most recent technologies include:
NegativeVoK™ functions offer an ideal model for prograding sediments in deltaic and continental margins and have been used successfully in the North Atlantic margins, Niger and Nile deltaic sediments, and the Gulf of Mexico. This approach offers extremely accurate prediction of depths at these locations.
HybridFunctions™ are a new technology which expands the lateral resolution of RMS velocities by a massive 2 orders of magnitude. The velocities can be from both regular processing and migration, and also Pre Stack time migration, and offer a huge development in accuracy. Furthermore, this technology allows precise calibration to a well data set which can fall wholly outside the area of the seismic, without recourse to extrapolation of velocity trends. This exciting new technology is now being rapidly utilised by a large number of our clients.
OptimisedResiduals™ ensure the most appropriate method of applying residuals is recomputed at every node. This results in the ideal value of the residual being used in the model. This approach is very robust even in the most complex structural situations.
BiModalFunctions™ offer a major breakthrough in resolving complex stratigraphic issues which can challenge uni-modal approaches.
